Creating and Decorating

Decorating a big box is how I spent Tuesday night. I am in charge of the Outreach part of the Women in Victory (Women's Ministry) at our church. There is a leadership committee I serve on. Sarah (above) is our director and we discovered that the Fire Department is showing up at 10 am on Saturday at the tea we are having to get the toys for emergencies that we are collecting. We knew at that moment that our first plan of collecting the toys up front at "alter" wouldn't work. So she, like a good director turned and said to me "Would you figure out what to do?" "Yes, of course!", I said. She has so much on her plate, I wouldn't expect it of her.

I thought of different ideas... but ended up with a way to have them deposited in a clean plastic bag so the fire crew could just take them off in bags. I went off to the dollar store for my supplies trying to match the color scheme that I know the luncheon is going to be decorated in this time... brown and aqua. Beautiful colors but not always easy colors to find at the dollar store.

Above is Sarah holding a gift bag at our last Lavish Love luncheon that was in February at Valentines Day. That is the luncheon where we had the Goodwill come in with their people that gives a wedding gown fashion show. The oldest gown they had was from the 1800's (below). Anyway, we have raffles where the ladies might win a prize as part of our events. Here Sarah is holding one while Mary is reading off the number.
Once I am finished with my box... I might take a photo of it and show you guys. Depends. Have a good day!

Hi Danna - so you added more to your plate? :-) That is me - I hate to say "no", & it's always a blessing to be a blessing to someone. Sounds like fun - hope you can show a pic of your decorated box. Have a wonderful day. Hugs!
