Weekend In Review

Saturday wasn't ALL that exciting. We worked around the house; mostly cleaning out the garage etc and taking things to Goodwill. I also had put together about 5 big bags of men's clothes which had been Dave's and Aaron's, and got them ready to take to the church for Sunday. We had the boy's but they got to have a day at "home"; playing videos, watching the movie "Bolt", and playing outside. Riley found Aaron's Razor and was practicing riding it. I can tell he is ready to learn how to ride a two wheeler bike.

Sunday we got ready for church. We met Kari and her friend Patrick there. After church we went to lunch all together. The boys went to stay with Kari for the rest of the day, giving Dave and I time to go out on a "date". So, we went to the movies to see "The Proposal" which is a cute romantic comedy with Ryan Reynolds and Sandra Bullock. It's setting is in Alaska during the summer, which shows a lot of our NW countryside. I am not sure if it was truely filmed in Alaska, Canada, or here. It all looks very much the same. I am still looking into finding out since I forgot to look during the credits.

We then decided to go down to Redondo; a small beach community on the Sound. It is a few miles from my house... about a 20 minute drive. Dave and I were married there in September 2005. There is a restaurant which is famous around here called Salty's. During the summer they have a "fish bar" where one can buy their fish and chips, and their clam chowder etc. There is a place to eat outside, or you can take it on the beach. We plan to get a bucket of chicken or something and bring the boys down there on one of the warm evenings coming up.

When we got there, there were medical personnel everywhere. We could see them doing CPR and heart compressions on a guy on the beach. It is a popular place for scuba diving, and this guy had been one of the divers this afternoon. People around me were saying that "they" had been working on him for a very long time and were afraid that he wasn't going to make it. I am sad to say that that they were correct in their assessment. The man died there on the beach. The news crews were beginning to show as we were leaving, but there is the link to the news HERE if you are interested. Prayers go out to his family and friends.

Have a great week! This one is a short one... :-)

Good Morning Danna.
So what did you think of the movie? I don't watch many of them until they're out on dvd!
That is sad about the man on the beach. What with all the celebrity deaths this week too, we are reminded how short our lives could be, and we should make the very most of them each and every day.
Have a lovely Monday.
Hugs
