As you know, I had been ill so I hadn't got much done. I had the decorations in the house, and that was it. There was a half attempt at having them up. I just haven't felt like doing anything. I have always worked better under a deadline, because this was the last weekend before Christmas... it was now or never.
Friday, I went home and put up the tree. Saturday, I hit some stores in the morning including Wal Mart... and had much of my shopping done by noon. Then I spent many hours wrapping them while taking care of the boys. I also packaged and we took plates of cookies to the neighbors... the boys handing them the plates. It teaches the boys to give. A reverse of Halloween. And Sunday, despite my back hurting because of bending over wrapping the presents, I went shopping after church for those last items that I didn't get in round one.
I also spent time with Riley. We had a lunch together and went to the movies to see "A Christmas Carol" by Disney. I am glad I didn't take Brady because it was a little much for Brady... the ghosts and all. But Riley got the idea about being good and not selfish from the story, and that was good for him to see and hear. Jim Carrey not only played the 3 ages of Ebenezer Scrooge, young boy, younger man, and old man, but also played the parts of the 3 ghosts. It was very well done, and worth seeing... and if not in the movies, on DVD.
I also was able to buy all the groceries for the week and for Christmas. We aren't going anywhere, so I have planned a pot roast for Christmas Eve, and Enchiladas for Christmas to keep my native Californian ways. The next day we will be going to Ruth and Steve's, and they will either have a turkey or a ham. So, for many days, there will be plenty on the menu.
Tomorrow is the boys last day of school before having Christmas Vacation. Remember the strike last September? Well, this is one way they are meeting the requirements of making up the days. A school year must be 180 days and I am trying hard for them not to miss any.
Kari is home ill tonight, so they are here with me. An attempt not for them to get sick. We have had our flu shots, we take vitamins, and they sleep 9 hours, at least. Sometimes more. Riley needs it because he is learning so much and growing.

Speaking of sleep, I better get ready for bed myself. Night!
