The Week Between...

the two holidays is a very different week. It is a refective week when we think about how we would like to change things in the coming year etc. It is the week we recover from all the hussle and busy ways of Christmas.

Sunday after church, Dave and I went to the movies. Last year and years before we have gone to the movies after Christmas. Last year there was snow in the ground and there was snow falling... we braved it and went anyway. We paid to see a movie but movie hopped because the one we chose was too violent or something.

We went a little early to the movie. It was cold outside, so we slipped into see a few minutes of A Christmas Carol. Last week I took Riley to see it and Dave wasn't there. But I had told him about it, and we wanted to get a glimpse. It, of course, was in 19th century London, England. We then switched to the movie we came to see, Sherlock Holmes. Again in the same time period. So we had our feel of London by the end of being at the AMC.

We came home and watched the movie Alaska, and then watched another movie called Serendipity. I decided that we had to have movie therapy after Christmas and all the hectic things Christmas brings.

The therapy must have worked because yesterday (Monday) I was really productive. We got the extra keys made at the Ford dealership, we went to Starbucks for coffee, then on to the mall to Borders, had a late brunch at IHOP, went back for the keys and the car, went to the Discovery Shop where Dee volunteers on Mondays, went to get a passport photo to get our passports, went home to pack up the Christmas decorations and take down the tree, pick up the boys after going to Fred Meyers for a few groceries, and then came home to cook dinner. Whew, I need a vacation from my vacation days!
