Rain in Seattle

It isn't a secret that in Seattle we get rain. It is one of the most interesting things about Seattle. One must take the rain on stride here... a part of one's daily living along with a vitamin D tablet. In the summer, we are excited when we have sunny days in the 70's almost every day, however, surprisingly people here begin to wish for a rainy day after about a month of sunshine. We have had the most mildest of summers compared to the rest of the nation but when it gets about 80 degrees here, the rough PNW people start complaining about the heat.

This weekend it rained all Saturday, and it was cloudy all of Sunday. A reminder that Autumn is around the corner. It is common though for us to see rain in August. I remember a few years ago when we had planned an event at the college I work for. It was an outreach to the community, "Next Step" on this same weekend... and it rained. We ate BBQ'd hamburger in the mist. We had hoped it wouldn't, of course. But around here, doing something outside is taking a chance.

I cleaned out the garage this weekend. It was a wonderful day to do it in and I was able to look at things I hadn't seen in years such as letters from my grandmother and photos of my dad. My father will have past on 11 years this coming week. I miss him everyday.

Kari was sick this weekend. We haven't decided with "what" yet. It might have been a stomach flu... so I am hoping and praying no one else gets sick from her. Keep her in your prayers... and us too.

Sunday we went to church and then on a short drive. We don't want to let a summer weekend get away without taking in the natural beauty in this part of the country.

Have a great week this week!

Ciao Danna. So Seattle is not a city for me to visit ;) I loved rain so much before moving to Scotland, and now I hate it to pieces :P
Beautiful shot, anyway! :) Have a happy day!
