It has been a busy weekend. Friday night Dave and I went to see a movie. We choose to see "The Time Traveler's Wife". It was OK and interesting. But I would also say one could wait for the DVD.
I was up until almost 2 am talking on the phone to an old friend from California. When I lived in the Inland Empire, Sherry was my best friend. We attended the same church and were in the same social circles. We were both struggling as single moms. So we told each other our hopes and fears. Before I left for WA, she remarried and, of course, as life's do... their life went another course. It was good to reconnect with her... but it was hard to hear about all the people that had been in her life that had past away... including her sister.
Saturday we got up and went out to a place called "MOMS" for breakfast, then I got the boys from Kari. My idea was to take them out to buy more school supplies and Dave a birthday gift. So off we went... and we were successful. I haven't been to the mall for a while, so it is always different to go there.
I had this idea that what we could do (finally) with an antique stained glass window we bought a few years ago. We thought we would hang it in a window, but never did. I will share with you tomorrow what we did with it... but it involved going to IKEA which is always a challenge.
Sunday I made Sunday breakfast for the whole family including Kari and Julia. I didn't eat much because I knew that we were going to meet Aunt Butchie at 1 pm at Salty's and that is a treat! I will also save that for a post this week.
I hope you had a great weekend. Our next one will take place in Seaside, OR, God willing. :-)
Have a great week!
