Above are some photos of the Winter Blast that we had on Sunday night. Sunday we couldn't make it to church again, and Monday my campus closed due to the snow and ice. Above is a picture of the half wine barrel that I use as a planter. It is over a foot high. In this photo, it is almost covered in snow. OK, this stuff happens in places in the mid west, but not normally here. They, who are on the news, say that the last time there was this much snow on the ground before or at Christmas was in 1861... that was when the civil war was, right? OK, that's the difference between what we have known for snow and what we are experiencing. I find it rather interesting, since I am from California. Dave and I were a little adventurous and set out to see what was going on Sunday. We ended down in the valley and went to Kent Station. At Kent Station there is a AMC theater where we parked and went to the movies and saw "Australia". It was fun to get out and see what was going on around the town. Not many people were out and about for good reason. But since we had our cables, we were fine.
I am thinking that we will be able to go to work tomorrow since the main roads have been cleared. It would take more snow and ice to keep us home again. Wish us luck.
