Inauguration Day

Today is the Inauguration of President Obama. As I watch the Inauguration, I will probably be crying to see a wrong corrected. It will be a correction in thoughts and deeds that will change so many things to be positive. This moment is going to life changing for so many, and changing for a new America... yet being truly American, not just talking about it. I am very happy that Obama is going to be President. Today is a wonderful, exciting day, and I hope everyone experiences that joy.

I am happy because he is the candidate that I voted for in November. I know, I know... a Christian that votes Democratic. Shhhhhhh, don't tell but there are a few of us you know. Of course, not all issues do I agree with, but all in all, I usually vote that direction. I hate the fact that the Christian church has made it hard on those that aren't Republican to feel like they are a minority or discriminated against. It is true, that is how I have felt. Having the idea that the Christian church is republican is NOT the truth. Many democratic ideas are very Christian and it isn't fair to narrow it down to one issue or a few issues. Next we will have a woman President. We think nothing of England having a queen, or a woman Prime Minister. Historically, African American males are given the opportunities before women. Not everyone sees things the same way; it is called "diversity" and from what I have seen in this world, diversity is a good thing. I see diversity as being biblical, or only the Jewish people would have the opportunity to be God's people. As an American, I can vote against issues that I don't believe in as well as those I do. I believe I voted for the best man for the job in the year 2009, as others have in the years before now. I feel that Obama is inheriting a big mess. I will be giving him lots of time to get us out of that big mess.

I am praying for President Obama today and I am happy to see the nation celebrating and feeling hope again. I will be seeing the President swear into office at the college. I hope to hold him and all of us up in prayer as we move forward daily. If you are a praying person, please join me.
